Vitamin D and Muscle Health: What to Know

What Vitamin D Does
Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and supports normal bone, nerve, and muscle function. Low vitamin D can affect health, but symptoms alone cannot tell you whether your level is low.
Testing and Treatment Are Medical Decisions
A blood test may be appropriate when a healthcare professional suspects deficiency or another reason to check. The result should be interpreted with that professional because testing methods, health history, medications, and individual risk all matter.
Do not choose a vitamin D dose from a gym article. If you are concerned about deficiency, ask your healthcare professional whether testing is appropriate, what the result means, and whether a supplement is needed. There is no single dose Forge should publish for everyone.
