Free session questions
What does the free session look like for my program?
The starting experience depends on the program you are interested in.
For group programs, your free session is a complimentary first class. Our staff welcomes you, shows you around, and introduces you to the coach. You participate in a real class appropriate to your level, with the coach explaining the training and helping you through it. You are not expected to know what to do before you arrive.
Personal training starts differently. Your first step is a complimentary 20-30 minute consultation. We talk about your goals, training history, past injuries, what may be hurting, and what your week actually looks like. Before we write your sessions, we also assess how you move so the program can be built from what we find.
For a seasonal program such as Summer Camp, your child can visit Forge, meet the instructors, and participate in an appropriate youth class before you decide whether to enroll. That is a visit and class experience, not a promised free day of camp.
Do I need to book, or can I just show up?
Please contact us before coming in. We want to know who is arriving, what program you are interested in, and which class or starting process fits you best. If you are bringing a child, their age and experience can also affect which class we recommend.
Booking ahead gives our staff and coaches time to prepare for your visit, place you correctly, and make sure you are not arriving for the wrong class. You can call, text, email, or message us through social media. We will help you choose the right starting point.
Will I be pressured to join afterward?
No. The free session is there to help you experience Forge and decide whether our coaching and environment are right for you.
Afterward, the coach or front desk staff will answer your questions. If you enjoyed the experience and want to continue, we can explain the available memberships and help you find an option that fits your schedule and training goals. If you are not ready or decide Forge is not the right fit, you will not be pressured.
We want people to join because they understand the program and want to continue training, not because someone pushed them into making a decision before they were ready.
What should I bring?
Wear comfortable workout clothes you can move in and bring a water bottle. You do not need to purchase a uniform or special equipment before your first visit.
If your first class uses boxing gloves, you may bring your own or borrow a pair of Forge loaner gloves. For children, the Forge training uniform is only required after enrollment, not for the complimentary first class.
If you are unsure whether your program requires anything different, tell us which class you are attending when you book. We will let you know exactly what to bring.
